Public spaces should be government owned. Each country could have its own public servers with a guaranteed spot for every citizen. People can cross post.
If you want anonymity you can have private servers too.

I’m okay with 1080p, it’s the slowdowns in FPS that hurt me. If I had to pick one I’d pick consistent 60fps over 4K. Too many games dip under 30 on switch these days.
Last round of rumours were saying around Q4. So September-December. If you can’t hold for 7+ months buy a used one or refurbished.
It’s not a fork though. It’s a complete rewrite in another programming language. That’s way more effort than a petty project.
The truth is, this might succeed based on developer reach. I love Rust, but I know it won’t have the reach (yet) that Java can, and more developers mean faster progress.
In the end, between this, Lemmy or another project which may be a fork of either, the success will be due to efforts of everyone involve at every stage. This wouldn’t exist without Lemmy, and Lemmy wouldn’t exist with ActivityPub.
And if I’m being honest if the end game is Star Trek I’m fine with the stuff in between. It beats the end game being Warhammer 40k.
TBF in the Star Trek universe they also do get transparent aluminum earlier than stopping the wars.
So you agree?
If the bots are welcomed and they don’t have good enough moderation, this is just sketchy content with extra steps.
Tell them. Many people don’t know about FHS. Seriously, just the person I was answering to was giving credit to some rando who copy pasted an image from the Linux foundation.
I’ve been educating people on this all my professional life. I try to make a change with the people around me, but I’ve also filed big to some FOSS projects that got it wrong. Some did the change, some were unwilling. But it’s unknown if even those did follow the right convention in their next project.
The FHS was started in 1994 and is free to use. It should be used now by all major Linux systems and most Unix too.
The only credit is to the Linux Foundation.
Just QI charging support (MagSafe) would be terrific. I don’t know if the footprint would allow it, but it would be so easy with all the phone wireless chargers out there. Just drop it on for lunch break instead of plugging it in.
I don’t mind the cable, I charge it about once a month for lunch break. But that would be a game changer.
Reticulating splines.
Honestly as long as I can share full resolution photos with my friends I don’t care what color their bubbles are.
I don’t know how much of a gun it was. Apple has definitely been working on RCS support for a year; you don’t add that in a few months. Similarly I’m pretty sure Apple has been considering USB C in iPhone since at least when they started working on the USB C on iPad, which is what 5 years old?
Of course without pressure they would have probably be slower to move forward, and with Apple secrecy it’s always hard to tell how long things have been ready to ship. But let’s not pretend they just woke up this morning with a horse head in their bed and told their direction team to start working on this.
TrueNAS did make it easy for me to manage my home lab, but I’m more of a software engineer than a devops. Debian if you’re comfortable with managing that.
Technically you can have transparent nameless shortcuts that do nothing and add them to make gaps. There’s a blog somewhere with hacks like that.
If you like customizations you should look into shortcuts.
There have been a couple generations that had worse battery life than the one before. It wouldn’t be unheard of.
Honestly just ActivityPub. And being backed by the W3C id assume there already are discussions in countries where corruption is less prevalent.
