It’s funny how every year these services get worse and worse and the prices keep going up. Netflix previously encouraging password sharing and then deciding it’s not ok. Did the price drop? ofc not. Did they replace it with a better feature? No. At least getting better content? Fuck no. Repeat for literally any of them.

Kinda already answering your own question. Those products converted to USB C a while ago, and there hasn’t been a technical reason to not convert iPhone for at least as long. Why not iPhone? It’s probably because if I had to guess, the MFI business is like, a lot of money. Probably hundreds of millions.
If you follow apple and the rumors fairly closely, this is one that at this point will be a surprise if it doesn’t happen.

They do have a solid rumor that they’re sticking with USB 2.0 speeds for for the USB C iPhone and that non-MFI certified cables may be slow charging only, so while I’ve got my finger’s crossed that’s false since I’m an iPhone guy, Apple still seems to be looking for a way to skirt the EU and still get the accessory cut.

Another thing I’ve done is you can find used thin-client types of machine on eBay for like $25. I got one when I was looking for something to run Home Assistant on, throw in a $20 SSD, and off to the races. That’s with 8gb of ram. The only thing I’d be careful about here is if you have a lot of plex transcode from host/client.
Strong recommendation for yams.media. It’s essentially a shell script that installs all of the *arr products, qbittorrent, plex/emby/jellyfin and helps keep them up to date via docker. Also has easy support for VPN.

Also here to say Brother. I bought a 2170w like 10-15 years ago for $99, have bought toner for it twice, and it’s chugged along the whole time. I see someone else saying they don’t deal with 3rd party cartridges, and mine def does, but that might be because of it’s age.
I’d also strongly recommend against another inkjet printer. We didn’t print enough in color even 10 years ago that when we did want to the cartridges were dry and it wasn’t just worth it to go to a Staples or Walgreens or whatever for photos or the occasional kid’s school project. If you do have to do a lot of color printing, laser jet is still where it’s at.

They should be? I mean, not just for the crime, but in general privacy should be the default.
Literally all of the major social media platforms are more or less intro to compsci levels of things. I think when I was first learning rails one of the tutorials was how to build a twitter clone. Granted, this is simplifying and there is a lot to be said for scaling and the more esoteric things, but yeah it’s barely about the platform/software.
