I don’t think you should proactively “switch to Linux”. Instead you should “play with Linux”, ideally duel boot and a day will come when you can’t remember the last time you used Windows.
You have to configure the users device at the start to give you your own codes back…
I think it’s because TOTP requires some sort of initial token sync that is more complicated than entering a telephone number. There’s also no need to have people backup codes etc. To use Authy for example I need to photograph a QR code and have a smart phone.
Text message as a solution works on older non-smart phones so it’s possibly the “most widely accessible” solution.
From a backend perspective as well it’s just an API text $random to $phone.
It did indeed.
Uber has never turned a profit for 14 years. I’m guessing it’s windows central who is facing bankruptcy, intellectually speaking.
I’m a Nigerian Prince. Pls zoom with me!
A linux distro is a linux distro. It’s you, who invests the time to experiment and understand, who unlocks advanced features. There’s no shortcuts to learning Linux than to use it and read about it and install it many many times.
E has more
When I got into Linux I read every physical book I could. Physical books on a subject tend to be written to have chapters that cover whole material. When you try and learn from multipe ebooks you randomly found online you end up cherry picking bits and pieces and never actually read every chapter, so you miss fundamentals.
Maybe you would benefit by reading a PAPER copy of a book about Linux and the especially command line. Linux is a very command line oriented system so maybe trying to tackle some of the struggles head on will help you unlock apt
any other tools.
Man 100%. If anyone wants to be a computer expert and is struggling, just stick with it and keep learning. You have to learn through experimentation and effort!
It’s just an attitude thing that some people’s egos are hurt when Linux confuses them.
People hate Linux because shows they aren’t computer experts, they’re just Windows power users.
I support unionising in general but not for contractors. By definition contractors have agreed to do short term work according to a specific contract. Trying to negotiate the contract later seems dishonest. That’s a very different to a regular long-term open-ended employment contract where unionising makes sense.
Without a chronological feed or a feed of followers only, Threads is cluttered with extraneous content that gets in the way of what users want.
An article in the FT said this, and the missing direct messaging and hashtag stuff is all geared around the fact that Threads is merely a platform for brands and influencers/content creators. Threads can win since it doesn’t need to make a profit and it’s set up from the start to do revenue splitting.
Every website is looking at engagement to keep users whilst serving adverts. Before tik-tok that engagement came from socialising and online discussions. The social media era. Post tik-tok it’s literally just scrolling through mindless 10 second videos from small content creators and the directly social side is effectively second rate, and by design.

As a developer I found my apps switched to Docker about Cloud about the same time as SystemD, so the problems I faced writing reliable init scripts evaporated at the same time.
Reduce effort. They say there’s duplication between hosting RHEL and Centos, so they’ll just do Centos. Since Redhat becomes Centos anyway it seems neither here nor there.
If you like Linux use Linux and make it your home. But expecting gaming to be as easy as Windows just isn’t going to happen.
I can go to Google and log in to free email. I can create word documents and spreadsheet in google docs. I can learn AI with Google projects. I can create unlimited private repos on GitHub, play lots of games on steam for free. I can download Winamp from old versions .com for free. I can get a Linux distro for nothing off servers. I can use a freevpn, watch YouTube for free.
Literally handing over game servers to an authorised community to run or supporting games forever actually is possible in the modern day.
