Google gets lots of reports and needs to filter out spam, and especially malicious reports like trying to mark a competitor’s business as closed, or trying to get less traffic in your neighborhood for selfish reasons. It wouldn’t be reasonable for Google to accept every user suggestion either.

So if Google reached out to the town and the town said the bridge is fine, then it’s not Google’s fault. If they ignored multiple credible complaints because the area was too rural to care about, that might be negligent.

Some people say there’s no malware for macOS and that’s obviously not true.

But others say macOS has malware so it’s no better than Windows in that regard, but I don’t think that’s true either.

Look at this example. It only works if it tricks users into downloading and running an unsigned executable, bypassing sometimes multiple warnings.

The difference between the M2 and M1 was small for real-world applications, compared to the difference between Intel and M1, which was stunning.

Linux I totally get. I love how Linux window managers make it easy to give each monitor its own separate virtual desktops. I tend to have one monitor that’s fixed and another that I change between tasks.

It’s not better or worse, it’s just…different.

If you’ve been using Macs for years and you learn all of the Mac-specific shortcuts and window management tools, it’s fantastic.

If you’re trying to get it to act like Windows or your favorite Linux window manager, you’ll find it frustrating. However, if you absolutely insist then you should just install a third-party window snapping tool.

I feel the same about Windows not having virtual desktops for years. Windows users had other solutions, but coming from both macOS and Linux window managers, I thought it was ridiculous they had nothing built-in, so I always installed a third-party virtual desktop tool for Windows.

I agree with your point that the list was completely arbitrary. Actually they didn’t mention any of my favorite things about the macOS UI vs Windows.

The only thing I don’t understand about your comment is this:

Batch file renaming is a Unix thing.

macOS is based on Unix, sure - but what does that have to do with the macOS Finder’s built-in file rename UI?

Windows PowerShell is just as powerful as Unix if you want do do command-line renaming.
