That makes this even more depressing. Sailing the high seas is the life for me.

Based on current findings of the investigation, the attack was contained within the Corporate IT environment and there is no evidence that the threat actor gained access to our product environment or customer data.
If it were a company other than TeamViewer I’d probably believe them, but since it’s TeamViewer, they could just as easily be lying since they have lied in the past about breaches IIRC.
People generally recommend Debian-based distributions because they tend to be more popular, have more applications designed first and foremost to work on them, and tend to have the most community support because they are more popular.
Well that’s a word I’ve never seen before lol
Great write-up! The biggest bugs always end up being the “simplest”/one-line things lol
I think these things aren’t designed to stop everyone, just most people, non-technical people - not people like us who know how to work around limitations etc.
It still sucks though, and it’s a stupid idea.
Oracle and Adobe seem to be the most evil companies, but we should be careful not to anthropomorphise them.
Yeah I use .com for my seedbox.
I’m not sure how fair it is. How would you know what work there is if there aren’t any tickets being assigned for example?
I believe his point was that if students want to find a way to be distracted, they will - with or without cellphones. I know I certainly was able to distract myself with doodling lol
Took the words right out of my mouth. This is concerning but I guess we will see what happens.
Honestly this might be a good thing. It might push more users to Firefox causing more competition for Chrome/Chromium.
It’s true, we are za warudo.
True, at the end of the day it does come down to number of users, unfortunately. More users does mean more potential help/contributions. I just wish more people would switch to Firefox or another non-Chromium browser.
Maybe that would be a good thing, maybe it would force people onto Firefox?
That does make sense. They do have “more to lose” in that sense.
Blocking an account doesn’t really solve the trauma of being scared to accept any friend request since it could be this guy
Oh yeah, that’s a good point.
Steam support did nothing
I’m not surprised. I love Steam, and the service that they provide, but I don’t think their support has ever been particularly outstanding. I’ve had mixed experiences with their support. I’m not sure what they can do about this in general, though. Even if they banned him, that could set him off even more and make him try to harass her even more to the point where it’s non-stop continued and he keeps spamming friend requests, etc.
I guess the idea would be transferring her account to a “new” account, or transferring her games to a “new” account, but yeah they don’t allow that. Damn.
Just not by Internet Archive.
Why not them in particular?
Wait, what does stalked mean in this context? Aren’t you able to block people on Steam?
For me, physical media takes up more space. It’s a good thing and a bad thing. It takes up more space which means I need to have more space, but it’s also cool having the boxes and box art etc. Ultimately, as long as I own my media and it’s physically accessible to me (like located on my hard drive), then I am happy with that ownership and don’t have to worry about it being taken away from me. Also, physical media can be damaged which means it’s unusable entirely. With a proper RAID setup and backups, digital media can outlast physical media.
