Modded Skyrim isn’t a problem, but mod organizer 2’s ui is very glitchy. Most every game I play works fine mods and all. Just don’t expect everything with anti cheat to work.
I reffered to both, archinstall is still text based I think so it can still be intimidating for new users.
That’s what I was referring to. I don’t use it because I have a list of packages I install in a file but the one time I did it was very easy.
It’s mostly fine but has had enough issues over the years I stopped using it for my “I want arch but I’m lazy” distro. Arch itself is really not hard to install these days but if you find it too intimidating endeavor is basically just arch anyway but with an installer.
Just emulate it if you want to play switch games “on PC with modern tech.” For legal reasons I’d advocate getting a modded switch and ripping your own games if you go that route but I was playing Tears of the Kingdom in 1440p ultra wide 60fps day 1.

None of those companies are very known for being “open” about anything.
I didn’t know this was a thing, it explains so much.
Hey op I know this is days old by now but I just came across this:
I thought nvidis was opening their drivers some as of sometime last year. Still shit though.
Yeah what mattkc and this guys doing are not really the same thing.
None of the mod managers that I’m aware of you’d generally be using for nexus mods do so idk why that matters.
Eh, from what I can see on his GitHub it looks like he’s still working on it.
Yeah it was in some sort of maintenance mode from 2016 to 2021, though I see that the developer has continued working on it under the subtitle Community Edition to this day.
I wouldn’t say that’s why it was shelved, the old nexus mod manager was a broken buggy mess that fucked up all your game directories. Vortex sucks but it is better than NMM without rose-tinted glasses. Now does vortex suck because nexus sucks and doesn’t let the dev make it not suck? Probably. The guy that made it made Mod Organizer and that’s great.
Nexus Mod Manager has been dead since gosh, 2017 or so I want to say. They kept it around for a few years and I think you can still get it from somewhere on their site but iirc they hired the guy who made Mod Organizer 1 to make Vortex, the new Nexus Mod Manager. Mod Organizer is amazing though so idk why Vortex sucks so much.
Yeah I just put debian testing on my laptop just to try something new and it’s been great. I’ve been using arch for years but for my laptop I decided I didn’t want to go through the whole process of getting it set up the way I want it and it certainly accomplished that.
