Avoid Manjaro
I tried to edit a 2hr video in kdenlive. It hung immediately after I told it where the file was. I believe it tried to load and process the whole thing into a subset. It should have stored references instead. I can check again tho I did recently change from ubuntu where Kde was like 1 year out of date.
I use Caddy. It works from Cli but very ez to use. Might try this in the future tho
…unfortunately no… I work around it by knowing what buttons to press but it’s pretty stupid.
Lol, ban me and I’ll finally have an excuse. Brb logging into league of linux
VR seems to be one of the last things that does not work. My Index is laggy af on Ubuntu and Fedora but completely fine on windows.
Every time I have seen a funky black screen with text against my will Nvidia was involved.
A keyboard lasts as long as you make it last, in other words, until you spill a beer or coke on it… Even then there may be hope. I have a working IBM Model M from 1989 if that matters…
Mine went back to no display only on boot, so I guess it didnt work for me either :( good luck tho!!
Blah, I kinda tried, but no dice yet, only managed to stop my suspend from working. I have modprobe/nvidia.conf and with the tmpfile option, updated initramfs, added the services… but only my monitors turn off. I can probably live without it for now though.
I had a similar problem which was resolved by disabling the motherboard integrated graphics in bios settings.
Hah, I would not expect that to kill it. Maybe a small build. The other day I was switching the cards and realized my CPU fan and case fan were both disconnected, idk how the hell it was running without overheating… except I always have the side of the case off because the 3080 will shut me down otherwise.
My favorite bug is when I resume from suspend and everything becomes rainbow colored.
I just got a 7600XT. My only complaint is that it isn’t pushing quite enough frames so I would need something more beefy, but then I will also lose GSync because of my monitors so I will probably simply return it and go back to the 3080. Lower TDP and thermals was quite nice though and wayland was much less buggy. No crashes, I’m on ubuntu tho.
Weird. I would check PSU next.
Dang, I did not even realize that about the usb c port only being usable after a full boot, since I just got it. I need to find out where I put that barrel charger. Haven’t tested the sd card slot yet but will try and report back.
I have one problem with my s76, the usb c port rly sucks. Other than that the laptop runs very well but something so simple shouldnt be an issue imo there are some build quality issues going on…
Dang, yea that is what I was confused about. Will try the miracast receiver on my pi though.
I thought chromecast was closed for some reason, what is stopping me from using it standalone for videos on rpi or in KDE?
Just finished moving all 3 of my computers to Fedora and WOW it is so good compared to ubuntu. I was missing out. Everything is working on both AMD and Nvidia, even wayland.
