I’m honestly quite fine with not owning any Ubisoft games, so me and this exec are on the same page of being happy not owning Ubisoft games it seems like

Oh, you should totally check out XCOM: Enemy Within and XCOM 2 if you found these games interesting.
The main gameplay for the tactical level is the same as Mario + Rabbids; it’s turn-based (you take your turn with your entire squad, then the enemy takes their turn) and you control up to a squad of 6 panic-prone rookies soldiers who have to complete an objective of some sort, usually killing all the aliens on the map. Each soldier can get a different class and choose different abilities as they level up within those classes, so you can sort-of tailor each soldier’s stats with the abilities they’d work best with. The major difference with XCOM is there’s also a strategic layer to it; non-fighting stuff, like managing each country’s panic level, building your base, and researching technology to get more upgrades for your weapons, armor, and fighter jets. Super fun strategy game if you’re into the genre.
It’s supposed to be like XCOM, right? Is there a strategic element to it, or is the game only just the fights?
Tbh I was kinda sad they killed her off instead of trying to make her an actually useful AI assistant. Seemed like a missed opportunity since her Halo counterpart is an AI as well, and it would’ve been cool to maybe have an AR partner app that would have shown pre-Halo 4 version of her.
As somebody who’s dual-booting Windows and Mint on an older laptop and saw battery life improvement in Linux… are you sure the battery isn’t just bad? I could use the laptop for hours before going to 50% on Mint while on Windows I could go maybe 2 hours before going to 50%.
EDIT: Should clarify, actually curious about the battery life on OP’s end and not trying to be a Linux snob. Wondering if maybe OP should look into a battery replacement if that’s a possibility since I know some batteries suck.
no ads from Micro$oft
no tracking whatsoever
don’t need to spend money on a key if you’re worried about using crackers for Windows
less resource intensive and better performing than Windows
practically can do pretty much anything on Windows either natively or through emulation
customizable to the point people can recode bits of the OS
Yeah, I’m not too sure either
I will laugh if they decide to cast Orlando Bloom as Link.
I heard more recently Linux has been making strides in driver support, so it’s making me consider Linux for my main rig. FWIW, it’s been working perfectly on my Dell laptop but that doesn’t have a dedicated GPU, only an iGPU, so I’m with you on blaming it on drivers :p
Or make the switch to Linux. Been running Mint on my old Dell and it’s waaaaaay snappier and better performing than Windows ever was - all for the low, low price of free!
How in the fuck is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance not mentioned yet?
A+++ OST, A+ gameplay, and a surprisingly good story for a Platinum game.
I’m 99% sure we’re gonna start seeing an uptick in employees “accidentally” obscuring and/or destroying these body cams
I would argue it was ruined once social media companies found out how to monetize data. Facebook and MySpace were huuuuuge back before smartphones existed, and using a PC was actually not that huge of a hurdle for surfing the web. It was when companies went “oh shit, we can sell user data to market ads” that they all scrambled to make things easier to use and adopt.
It comes down to the kind of leather used. Most manufacturers will say they use “genuine leather”, which is technically leather because it’s the scraps from other leather products glued or bonded together. You also have pleather, AKA fake or synth leather, which iirc if it’s 100% pleather it’s actually good, but anything less than 100% and it becomes absolute shit.
The older leather stuff and modern premium leather will usually be full-grain leather, which is the actual good leather we know and love.
As an American, I concur with your sentiment OP.
Actually not true, the way YouTube ads show up is more or less almost impossible for pi-holes to catch. There’s been some successes in the past, but then YouTube ads somehow find another way to circumvent it.

If you stole a car, you physically took something away from somebody. If you download a car, the original is still there - you’re just making an exact copy for yourself for free. Same if you swiped a candy bar at a gas station - you’re depriving that gas station the use of their property, which is to sell and make money. If you download a candy bar, nothing is taken and the gas station can still sell the original.
So let’s be crystal clear here: what’s happening is not theft, because nothing was taken and the owner is not deprived of the use of their property. Can you argue that you’re getting something for free when you shouldn’t? Yes, and that’s more in line of denying profits rather than actual theft.
Ok, I really don’t get this.
Why are y’all so focused on basically moving Reddit onto the Fediverse when you can just, y’know, either make new content that you want to see on the Fediverse… or just go back to using Reddit? Dunno about you guys, but I got away from Reddit because I don’t want the Fediverse to become Reddit 2.0 in terms of content and community - I was kind of hoping more for Fediverse communities and content, not Reddit communities and content on the Fediverse. If I wanted that, I’d go on Reddit.
Also the Netherlands is still very much capitalistic while having much more protections for their citizens.
This isn’t a blanket “capitalism bad”, it’s the fact we allowed our country to be bought out by capitalism.
