they just send a OTP to your email with the idea that you should be keeping your email secure (and that email providers are more secure than they can be)
The whole site seems like a PoC - the accounts don’t even have passwords! (I could actually kinda get on board with this)
yeh, thats what I mean, who knows what the state of the market will be in 25 years, unless its an insurance backed guarantee, be very suspicious of it.
Or that they were expecting to be out of business by then…
Nvidia IS making a profit on it though. It’s the whole “in a good rush, sell shovels” thing.
AMD uses chiplets in their CPUs, you can see it in the picture - they have a CPU bit, a GPU bit and an AI bit.
Much like you can buy SKUs with or without graphics you will be able to buy models with or without AI.
And taste worse…
Oh it WILL cause security issues. It’s just a tradeoff against if they are worth the benefits.
Have you seen how slow their site is normally? Just request loads of obscure random pages and it will just eat their IO.
Throw some standard ddos on top to obscure things and your good? (Bad)
Edit: I know nothing about their storage, so I may be wrong. It just feels like they are held together with spit and prayers at the best of times.
Then you don’t get any new people at all. (Or very few)
It really depends on the company. You can make fully remote work, you can make 20-40% work or you can do 80-100% work. However the company needs to be run with that in mind to ensure good communication/team building etc.
You also can’t just change the rules. If you change the split someone is going to be unhappy.
(And accept that your possible talent pool is reduced when you don’t offer remote work)
Those quotes aren’t in the parent comment?
And if they prioritise it etc then they are just prioritising netflix. It was a great idea!
Could be supervillain problems 🤣 comments about wishing someone would go away and an underling resolves it’s in a more permanent way …
Probably not, it’s just that his entire exec team are spineless henchman.
I think the spacex team is still independent (ish) for now, I fear for them though!
I really want to see the email/message exchange preceding some of these changes at twitter/Tesla.
Is there any pushback/discussion any more, or does Elon just say jump and entire departments vanish?
There are some interesting ideas in there that I hadn’t heard of. Interesting article
The train guards are the ones who check the tickets, do the announcements etc. the drivers went on strike a few years ago (and maybe partially now too?) to stop them being fired. They can’t run trains without them.
I assume that if you created a Lemmy account and subscribed to all the kbin communities (magazines?) you were interested in that would mostly cover you? I think the federation works?
Does Kbin have any other functionality there that wouldn’t work?
What is their monetisation plan? Currently they don’t seem to have anything other than donations?
