Coming January 25.

Pre-orders are open now.

I am still playing the first trilogy. Finished the first game but still have the next two games to play. Very excited to see next trilogy will be there once I am done with this one.

I think a lot of these “pre-order now” headlines are simply reminders that the game is coming out. It’s advertising, with the added benefit of someone locking down a copy early.

That’s what I’m using it as. My copies of Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice are stuck on an ancient iPad I got 10 years ago, so I may get a copy of this even if I don’t play it for a long time or even ever just to be sure I have a still-playable copy of every game in the series (the iPad died years ago and I’m an Android guy now).

Remember kids: there is absolutely no reason to pre-order games. You’re taking the risk that the game ends up being bad for nothing worthwhile in return. It’s not like queuing outside GameStop at 06:00 in the morning—the Nintendo eShop isn’t going to run out of copies.

For eShop games, sure. But if you want a physical copy, it’s often a good idea—especially if you want a limited edition, especially in a niche genre. Anyway, these games have already been released previously, so it’s not like game quality is really a factor in the decision.
