You’re asking people who don’t care, who don’t use the internet the same way we do, to suddenly care enough to take manual action outside of their knowledgebase amd comfort zone
If they don’t care about ads then they won’t care if those ads are private or not.
When everyone start using adblockers then it will go away and companies will have to come with new business models. I have been using adblockers since the first adblock was released and I don’t see ads so it’s up to the people. Better invest in/support ways to block ads.
Small countries? Italy has a population of 60m people.
I, for one, do not welcome any form of advertising.
And Linux is limited to 720p

Browsers also keep the bookmarks locally with an option to sync. You can export/import them too if needed. Sorry, still not seeing an added value of an external bookmark manager.
Unless what you’re trying to say is that it backs up the websites themselves locally then… that’s at least interesting.
I use the one built in Vivaldi. What’s the point of an external bookmark manager?

Good thing I used a script to edit all my posts and comments into Lemmy promo and info about Reddit paywalling 3rd party apps before I left. I hope ChatGPT uses it in a reply to someone xD.
